Fund Raising:

In journeying into the wilderness of Tasmania I have come to appreciate more and more of what Tasmania has to offer through its natural beauty and splendor. I have been privileged with the opportunity to experience so much of Tasmania’s wilderness. Through this experience, I have become passionate about encouraging others to go out and see Tasmania’s wild country for themselves.

I have become involved with a number of charities, assisting by raising funds through the walking in the wilderness that I do. I have been donating my own money at one dollar per kilometre that I walk towards charities over past years including Holman Clinic in Launceston, Appin Hall, and CanTeen.

For the 2015/2016 season I have raised money to support CanTeen. I have walked 1700 (yes, one thousand seven hundred) kilometres, and so I have donated $1700 of my own money to CanTeen. I appreciate any assistance you can contribute in supporting me with this worthy cause, helping kids with cancer. My heart felt thanks to those that have donated as well, anything you can spare to this most worthy cause would be greatly appreciated.

Donations can be made HERE.

For the 2016/2017 season I again raised money to support CanTeen. I have walked 1600 kilometres this season, so donated $1600. This season, many people assisted by either matching my donation, or donating what they could. Therefore in total, around $5000 was raised. I sincerely thank those that have donated.

I have also been raising money for charities through the sale of a childrens book written about me, which is still available through all Macpac stores in Australia. More details are on my website on the Book page.

My experiences at fundraising began when I was undergoing treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (a form of blood cancer) at the WP Holman Clinic in Launceston. Through consecutive walking seasons I travelled over 1000 kilometres per season, and I donated from my own money $1 per kilometre and encouraged others to join into this sponsorship. In total around $7000 was raised for this cause.
